Matt Sokolich

In 2023, Matt became a valued member of the buy side team at Nolan & Associates. His role involves spearheading corporate and private equity acquisition search engagements, where he excels in establishing meaningful connections and fostering relationships with business owners whose companies are potential acquisition targets.
With over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, Matt brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated his exceptional finance acumen and deal sourcing prowess. Having personally sourced more than 1,000 proprietary leads, Matt has established himself as a prolific and highly skilled deal sourcing professional.
What sets Matt apart is his ability to connect with people, understand their biases, overcome objections, and build a solid foundation of agreement. His exceptional interpersonal skills enable him to effectively communicate the value of Nolan’s clients’ offerings to potential sellers, making each meeting highly valuable.
Before joining Nolan, Matt held the position of Vice President of Deal Origination at a national buy side Investment Bank. Prior to that, he served as a middle-market business banker at Commerce Bank, ranked 25th on Forbes’ list of America’s Best Banks. Additionally, he held the role of Vice President of Business Development at Enterprise Bank & Trust, where he proactively sought out new business owner relationships for the bank, focusing on family-owned enterprises and assisting them in leveraging the bank’s lines of credit, term debt, equipment financing, and treasury management services.
Matt graduated from Southern Methodist University and completed finance and accounting coursework at Harvard Business School. He lives with his wife and three children in St. Louis MO. When he is not cheering on his kids from the sidelines, he enjoys working out and traveling. Matt works from Nolan’s St. Louis office.
